Dedicated to encouraging the human powered sport of nordic skiing.
Tahoe Cross Country Nordic Center has a long history of community involvement, support and ambition. Since the 1970s, nordic trails have been groomed across acreage near Burton Creek. With time, we plan on adding TXC's rich history to this page, so stay tuned!

Through the partnership with the Tahoe City Public Utility District, Tahoe Cross Country provides several educational programs to our community members. The following TCCSEA programs are also made possible thanks to countless hours donated by members of our community:
Strider Gliders - After-School Ski Program is an 8-week program that includes ski instruction, equipment use for the entire winter, and ski trail access, all for a nominal fee, thanks to over 2,000 hours of community support donated each season.
Free Skiing for Schools - Program provides free skiing to teachers and their students, giving all children the opportunity to participate in winter physical activity.
Winter Discovery Center - Center Provides a place-based science/ski program to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students from the Lake Tahoe region.
North Tahoe Cross Country Ski Team - TCCSEA is a proud sponsor of the North Tahoe High and Middle School Cross Country Ski teams. Each season students compete in individual and team races in both the disciplines of classic and skate skiing. Approximately 9 races are held each season and students have the opportunity to travel to other ski areas such as Kirkwood and Mammoth.
Junior Development - The DEVO and COMP program is an early development program for cross-country ski racing that includes skate and classic skiing, running, mountain biking, ski walking, bounding, roller skiing, games, and strength training. The goal of the program is to introduce and develop cross-country ski skills, promote general fitness, and create a love of the sport to last a lifetime.
Junior Mountain Bike Program - Encourage community youth to enjoy TXC trails every season by mountain bike riding in groups of similar ages and while supervised.
Child and Super Senior Discounts - At TXC children 12 and under and seniors ages 70 and older ski daily for free! Season passes for these age groups cost $1, which comes with the benefit of free or discounted ski improvement clinics (note, all pass-holders get this benefit).
